This is an impressive Wild Goose female bird with a ribbon filigree pattern and wings of clear glass. The head is clear with a controlled air bubble inside, and the beak is luster with normal irregularities in color.
Design by famous professor Oiva Toikka and hand made in Nuutajärvi, the legandary glass blower-village in Finland. This model is a real challenge to the glass blowers to master. This was the first bird model to be numbered. This vintage bird is number 952/1000.
The wild geese were made in year 1987-1990, and are presented on page 38 in the book "Toikan Lasilinnut -Toikka's Glass Birds". Also on page 28 in the book "Birds by Toikka" and on page 74 in the book "In Oiva's Wonderland".
