This is an impressive, large and heavy Wild Goose bird. It has a ribbon filigree pattern with lustre, that is a real challenge to the glass blowers to master. The wings are of clear glass. The head is clear with a controlled air bubble inside, and the beak is luster.
Design by famous professor Oiva Toikka and hand made in Nuutajärvi, the legandary glass blower-village in Finland. This was the first bird to be numbered. This one is number 471/1000.
The wild geese were produced in years 1988-1990, and are presented on page 28 in the book "Birds by Toikka" and on page 74 in the book "In Oiva's Wonderland".
