This is an impressive, big and heavy Wild Goose bird, with plenty of golden lustre. It has a ribbon filigree pattern, that is a real challenge to the glass blowers to master. See close up views of the pattern! The wings are green and these are not lustred. The head is clear. The beak is multicolor metallic.
Design by famous professor Oiva Toikka. Hand made in Nuutajärvi, the legandary glass blower-village in Finland. This was the first bird to be numbered. This one is number 299/1000.
The wild geese were produced in years 1988-1990, and are presented on page 28 in the book "Birds by Toikka" and on page 74 in the book "In Oiva's Wonderland".
Because of the lustred nature of this bird we provide several photos in different amount of light in order to show some of the many features that can be discovered in this fascinating bird.
