Tapio Wirkkala - Chantarelle type Vase Iittala Finland
This is a variation of the theme used for the famous Chantarelle creations by Tapio Wirkkala, that he originally designed for the Triennale in Milan 1951. There he won the Grad Prix -price with these creations. This vase is not solely a piece of Art Glass. It definitely also is a neat and useful vase. This is a rare variant from this series. It has a miniature white spot within the glass close to the upper border. See close up photo of that.
This piece has very minor wear but has a minimal nick at the base. This is so small that it is difficult to see even when you look for it. We have close ups on it on the last two photos.
We also show a nice group photo of three variants of creations by Tapio Wirkkala produced with the same kind of technique.
