This is an old impressive big sized line cut vase by Tapio Wirkkala from the 50-s. It is 25,5cm high and 13cm wide.
There can be found a couple of miniature impurities within the glass. These were common in glass items from this era. This item has been used as a vase. It is without cracks or nicks. On close inspection signs of use can be found in the lower part of the vase in form of a slight cloudyness, and several less obvious small surface scratches can also be found. The preused condition of this rare vase model has been taken into account when setting the price for this item.
This item is part of a series of line cut items created by Tapio Wirkkala starting with the Foal's Foot in the 40s. In that period he then produced many different shaped vases and bowls that all represent a variation of this technique.
For example and for size comparison you see on the last picture this item together with a baby sized 17cm Foal's Foot (model 3215) from -55.
