"Species of Tern" was among the first designs by Oiva Toikka with a split tail. It was produced in a numbered series from year 1988-1992. In Finnish it is called Räyskä, which is Caspian tern in Finnish, and this is the species of tern that this glassbird very closely resembles.
This bird was made in Finland in legendary Nuutajärvi glass village. The design has a matte surface.
We have two individuals of these at the moment. On the last pictures you see both together. The other bird is numbered E 1305/3000. We do not know what the E stands for.
