The Smew was in production 2002-2006. This piece is signed O.T. II.
Probably because it is more assymmetric in color than the Smews usually are.
Design by famous professor Oiva Toikka.
Hand blown in the legendary Nuutajärvi glass village.
The Smew is described on page 66 in the book "Birds by Toikka" and on page 93 in "In Oiva's wonderland".
Despite this one is marked II, it still has an exceptionally elegant streamlined elongated body and a magnific appearance.
And it is well kept.
On the last pictures you can compare this one to our ordinary Smew. And you can also see it swimming with our great Scaup Duck for Digital Equipment to which this one has a quite similar habitus.
