The handsome Ruby Bird is a classic design by famous professor Oiva Toikka, introduced in 1996. This bird is made of real ruby red glass, which was a difficult color to produce, as it needed special procedures. You can see that the color is really ruby red from the yellow tan that partly shows, especially in the pictures that we took in indoor spot light.
At the moment we have two beautiful Ruby Birds, with lustered spots and golden metallic heads. We photographed these also together so that you can see how great individuals these hand made birds are. Both have that yellow tan but it shows in different ways. Chose your favorite!
These birds are splendid Christmas birds.
Later Ruby Birds were produced only in cranberry red color, which was an easier color to work with.
