The cobalt blue Night Tern is a special numbered bird that was made in year 1990 for E. Ahlström Oy. Design by famous professor Oiva Toikka and hand made in legendary Nuutajärvi glass hut in Finland.
It has a deep blue chest path with the rest of the blue body semi lustred. The head is lighter blue and lustred. Night Tern is described on page 62 in the book "Toikan Lasilinnut-Toikka's Glass Birds".
This bird is quite rare and numbered 93/500.
Last we added for fun a comparison of Sinilintu, the Blue Bird for Police School and this Night tern for E. Ahlström. Both cobalt blue Oiva Toikka commissions, but Sinilintu is clearly a smaller bird and has a semilustred front area and the rest of the body is purely cobalt blue. There are also several other small differences..
