The Marsh Duck is perhaps the most wanted bird of the 12 small birds in the Birds of Passage series.
Design by famous professor Oiva Toikka for the Birds of Passage collection that was made in year 1991-1995 and 1997.
The Marsh duck changes color in different light because it is made of neodymium glass! It is light blue in fluorescent tube light and purple in bright daylight or warm light, and shows many different shades in between depending on the current wavelength of the light used.
You find this model in the book "Birds by Toikka" on pages 33 and 35, and on page 77 in the book "in Oiva's Wonderland and on page 69 in the new book "Toikan Lasilinnut-Toikka's Glass Birds".
In the last picture you see this bird together with two other birds of the Birds of Passage series, the Bald Coot and the Marsh Duck.
