The Strömmingsbådan lighthouse mug was produced in 2010 in an edition of 1000 pieces.
Strömmingsbådan Lighthouse was established in 1885. It is 16,2m high and is situated 25 nautical miles from Vasa city in the Gulf of Bothnia.
The lighthouse mugs present enchanting archipelago themes that honors the old lighthouses in our archipelago and the cultural heritage that these represent. In the old times these lighthouses were manned. Nowadays lighthouses operate automatically. Most of the ones presented on the mugs are still in duty today.
The first six mugs were produced in 2002 in editions of 500 pieces each. These first mugs are nowadays rather rare. By today over 60 different mugs have been designed by Anneli Stenros to this series.
While some collect these lighthouse mugs, many buy them purely to bring atmosphere to the breakfast table. The mugs are dishwasher safe. We now have some of the old sought for mugs available (see last pictures).
