This is a stunning iconic vintage Prisma Art glass object, design by Kaj Franck. This piece is a large 21cm tall Prisma in yellow, blue and clear glass. The model number is KF 215. It was crafted using layers of coloured glass, which were carefully blown, cut and polished to achieve its distinctive geometric form and striking visual depth.
Examples may feature an engraved signature indicating the designer, manufacturer and year of production, such as K. Franck Nuutajärvi-Notsjö ’63. Some later pieces are signed only with the factory name.
Prisma was designed in year 1954 and between 1954-1958 the glassmakers at Nuutajärvi developed the technically demanding making process. Official production was between 1958-1968.
