This individual is special with its exceptionally orange bright red color and blue, slightly lustred head. It was hand made in legendary Nuutajärvi glass factory in Finland in the early 90's.
The Firebird is part of the cute Birds of Passage collection, which constitutes of a series of twelve very different small sized birds that were designed by famous professor Oiva Toikka for mail order delivery. But several lots with different nuances of red and with different head and spot colors have been made. The special color combination seen in this individual is also seen in bright orange-red apples by Toikka that were blown in 1990-1992. Usually the Firebirds of the Birds of Passage collection were less orange and had lustered or black/greenish head.
