The House Sparrow, also called Grey Sparrow, is a rare bird that was designed by famous Professor Oiva Toikka for the 100 years anniversary celebrations of Finnish Mental Health Association (Suomen Mielenterveysseura) in 1997 and is hand made in Nuutajärvi, the legendary glass village in Finland.
This individual is signed O.Toikka Nuutajärvi in handwriting, but not SMS 1897-1997. The tail has a personal shape. See the close ups. The color of the body could perhaps be described as resembling creme caramel, decorated with darkgrey stripes. The head is in clear glass and the beak is light blue. The wings are outlined with oval areas on both sides.
On the first and last pictures you see this House Sparrow together with its baby Sparrow, also designed for Suomen Mielenterveysseura in 1997.
