Pomona Jam Jar 2dl - decoration by Raija Uosikkinen Arabia
These jam jars belong to a very popular table ware set by Arabia named Pomona. These small jars are 9,5 cm in diameter and 6cm high without lid and hold 2dl.
The beautiful decoration patterns are designed by Raija Uosikkinen, the chief decorator at Arabia from 1947 to 1986. The shape of the jar is designed by Kaj Franck.
These items were introduced in the mid sixties. They are labeled on the underside either with the Arabia crown and the text ARABIA MADE IN FINLAND and a numberserie that indicates the month and year when the item was produced, or just with the Arabia crown and the text ARABIA WÄRTSILÄ FINLAND, which label was in use in the early seventies.
We do not recommend washing in dishwasher, because those chemicals could make the printed pattern pale.
We are happy to be able to provide several beautiful 2dl jars representing five different patterns. Four of these are with lid. The jars are in good vintage condition. It is common for these to have small inborn irregularities in the stonewear under the glace, which means small bumps or dark spots under the glace. The lids almost always have three marks on the inside due to how they are made. In some cases there is no glace at these spots and in these cases these spots have become yellowish with time. If there is staining or wear at the bottom ring of the jar this can be seen in the pictures. Check the pictures closely. The jars are named in the pictures with letters as indicated below.
A: Blueberries w. lid 11-66 B: Strawberries w. lid 11-67 C: Red & Black Currant w. lid 8-69 D: Oranges with lid early 70:s
E: Strawberries without lid 6-67 (small inborn stonewear irregularity on the inside) F: Strawberry without lid 6-64 (with a small crack at the bottom ring)
When you click on one of the letters under the heading a picture of that jar appears uppermost and the price for this very item appears under the heading. Then this particular item can be added to the cart.
