This is a very rare vintage bird made for Turun Sanomat in year 1986.
It has a green body, lustered back and blue wings. The head is clear.
Design by famous professor Oiva Toikka and hand made in the legendary glass factory at Nuutjärvi.
In order to better show how color and lustre may come out variably under different light conditions we also shot a couple of pictures of the bird upon a different time of the day.
In the old book, as well as in the new book on Toikka's Glass Birds this rare bird is dated in the 90:s, but the individuals that we have seen of this species have all been dated 1986. So we believe that this rare bird was apparently designed the same year as the other two ducks for Turun Sanomat. We are interested in hearing and seing pictures if someone has a bird of this species with another kind of signature!
