The beautiful Amethyst Bird is a SPECIAL EDITION novelty Toikka bird for year 2021 by Iittala glass factory. In year 2021 Iittala celebrated the 140 years anniversary from the foundation of Iitttala glass factory. The bird is open numbered: 2021/ XXXX, and was in production only in 2021.
This bird has a beautiful amethyst color with luster spots and it is made of neodymium glass that changes color depending on the light quality. In Tube light it is light blue and in bright daylight it is purple, and it also shows many hues in between. The head is metallic blue.
Design by professor Oiva Toikka, and hand made in Iittala in Finland.
The bird is delivered new in box, signed and first class.
On the last two pictures you see this bird together with one of our Finland 100 years anniversary birds (nr 113/2017). A blue dove with lustred spots as well, and metallic blue head.
