The Aalto vase designed by famous architect Alvar Aalto is an icon of Finnish design.
A version of the vase was first presented in 1936 and got much attention at the Paris World Fair in 1937.
Since then the Aalto vase has conquered the hearts of many generations world wide.
It is produced in several different sizes and colors.
The vase is a perfect example of Alvar Aalto's free flowing imagination.
The Aalto vases are still today mouth blown into a mold at the Iittala glass factory in Finland. The production of one vase goes through 12 work stages, and every single Aalto vase is unique.
The grey Aalto vase of Recycled glass is of exactly the same color as the recycled Little Tern by Oiva Toikka.
The blue Aalto vases of recycled glass are of a Special Edition, and these have a variable intesity of the blue color. See the pictures. Some are very deep blue while others have a slightly more diluted blue color.
The blue vases are of different price than the grey ones. When you click on the text for each color, the photo of the corresponding vase appears uppermost and the price for that particular vase type appears under the heading.
