This beautiful translucent blue Aalto vase is vintage from the -90s, based on the Iittala sticker and signature in use. The vase is in a very good condition with hardly any wear.
The Aalto vase designed by famous architect Alvar Aalto is an icon of Finnish design. The first versions of it was presented in 1936 and these vases got much attention at the Paris World Fair in 1937. Since then the Aalto vase in many different sizes and versions has conquered the hearts of many generations world wide. It has been produced in numerous different colors and color variants. The elegantly folding glass is a perfect example of Alvar Aalto's free flowing imagination.
The vases are still today mouth blown into a mold at the Iittala glass factory in Finland. The production of one vase goes still today through 12 work stages, and every single Aalto vase is hand made.
