Contemporary black solid glass bird sculpture from Iittala glass factory, Finland, designed by Italian designer Giorgio Vigna.
The production of these elegant smooth glass birds for Iittala designed by Giorgio Vigna started in 2007 at Nuutajärvi glass factory. The collection contains three species: Circoli, Colori and Contrasti (see the pictures that we added of an Iittala booklet describing the 2007 Vigna collection).
This particular bird is a large black Circoli bird in massive glass, with cicular layers of white glass inside the bird. The white glass shows only at the tip of the beak and tail.
The bird weighs over 2kg!
