An impressive and heavy vintage art vase made of lilac curtain glass blown into a spike mold. This design is Gunnel Nyman's Gn25 vase.
Gunnel Nyman was a very talented designer who passed away at only 39 years age in 1948. She is an internationally well known designer that definitively was a pioneer and trendsetter in Glass Design in her time. She threw light on the beauty of a simplified style where the form of an object in itself is the beauty. Her beautiful Glass items won posthumously the gold prize at the XI Triennial in Milan in 1951.
This piece of art glass is signed with acid etching and part of the signature is legible due to natural wear on the underside caused by heavy weight.
This very old vase is in a very good condition. In the last picture this vase is posing with two other spike mold vases by Gunnel Nyman. Those we have for sale elsewhere on this site.
